Recoh-vert RV-3

The RV-3 is a copper counter flow heat exchanger, 2.1 meters in length. It is installed as part of the waste system and as hot water passes through the inner bore of the heat exchanger, cold mains water is delivered simultaneously through the outer part of the heat exchanger, heating up as it goes.

  • Achieve the Code for less capital outlay than other technologies included within SAP.  At around £47/% point in SAP (compared to £160/% point for solar thermal) the Showersave system will give your calcualtions a quick and easy boost to ensure Part L/Code for Sustainable Homes compliance.
  • The Showersave system ensures any condenasation accumulated is despatched directly to the drain as a result of our unique twin copper wall on the inside of the heat exchanger. Some of the competing products in the Waste Water Heat Recovery category within SAP 2009 do not have this ability and therefore must keep the drain open.  Therefore, increasing the possibility of nasty smells coming from the system.  The twin wall also ensures there is no noise.

The Showersave Recoh-vert is recognised by BRE in SAP under Appendix Q as well as in the Product Characteristics database of SAP 2009. It is 66% efficient (recognised by BRE) and therefore significantly improves the Dwelling Emission Rate (DER) ensuring Code Level 3 & 4 are achieved at the lowest possible cost and without the need to install renewables.

•       Suited to new build or refurbishment

•       Located under the showers and/or showers over baths, in buildings with more than one floor

The system can also be installed in apartments where there is a general service duct.  If this is not the case see the RT-1

The inner pipe is twin walled copper with an air gap.  This ensures compliance with EN1717, where an air break to drain is required.  In other words, you do not need to keep the drain OPEN as some of competetors do. This ensures NO opportunity for nasty smells to eminate from the system. It also insulates the system against noise.

The system has no pumps, controllers or electrical connections.  This ensures that it is simple to install and requires no maintenance over its life which which is expected to be in excess of 20 years.

The inlet side of the Recoh – vert is connected to the mains water system. The outlet side can be installed in two different ways, namely:

A Combined connection to the shower mixer tap’s

cold water connection and the water heater.

C Separate connection of the cold water connection

to the water heater only.

The largest energy and CO2, saving is achieved by using System A.

The performance of systems A and C are recognised within the SAP Products Characteristics Database (PCDB) for energy savings calculations. System A will provide the maximum energy saving, with an efficiency of 66%. According SAP the efficiency of system C is 56% (assuming a 91/min flow rate).
